Health and Wellbeing
The Three Meem Health and Wellbeing Programme is a community-driven initiative addressing health inequalities, particularly among ethnic minorities, in Trafford. For four years, it has improved healthcare access and health literacy, aligning with NHS priorities to tackle disparities and promote integrated, community-led care. The programme addresses the stark health inequities in areas like Bucklow-St Martins, Partington, and Sale West, where life expectancy is nearly eight years lower than in affluent wards.
Taking a holistic, culturally relevant approach, Three Meem offers health talks, workshops, and campaigns focusing on chronic disease prevention, mental health, and navigating NHS services. Collaborating with local organizations and faith groups ensures trust and accessibility. With a team of doctors, nurses, psychologists, and allied health professionals, the programme is uniquely positioned to drive meaningful change.
Looking ahead, Three Meem aims to expand its reach, deepen partnerships with healthcare providers and policymakers, and continue advocating for education and support to build healthier, equitable communities.
