The Three Meem Foundation recently held a Breast Cancer Awareness event to educate and empower women about breast health. Ramma Shaid, the anchor person, welcomed the audience and introduced the speakers.
The first speaker, Dr. Natalie Summerhill, a General Practitioner with a special interest in women’s health, set the stage by providing an introduction to cancer. She explained its nature, highlighted the risk factors, and emphasized the critical importance of family history in assessing cancer risk. Her talk helped the audience understand the fundamental aspects of breast cancer and the need for vigilance.
Dr. Asma Hussain, a highly experienced breast surgeon with over 10 years in the field, followed with an in-depth discussion on the clinical aspects of breast cancer. She covered the symptoms, the diagnostic process, and the range of treatment options available. Dr. Hussain also touched on prognosis, stressing the importance of seeking medical attention early to ensure better outcomes. Dr. Fozia Tariq, , shared her experience, encouraging women to seek help early.
A Q&A session followed, where the panel, including Kandeel Batool, an oncology nurse, addressed audience questions and provided practical insights. The event concluded with Dr. Summerhill’s closing remarks and a heartfelt thank-you from Dr. Tariq. Participants mingled with the panel over tea and refreshments, fostering further discussion and engagement.
