About Three Meem Foundation

Incepted in 2018 as a not-for-profit charity, the Three Meem Foundation initiated its wide-ranging activities in August 2019 following the successful execution of our debut 3 Meem Public Meeting in Sale. Our community members’ extraordinary unity and collaboration have served as the bedrock of our operations ever since.

Commencing our activities in September 2019, the foundation has dedicated itself to devising many programmes that serve the diverse needs of different age groups in our local communities. We proudly offer over 50 various activities and remain committed to meeting the promises we made during our first community meeting in August 2019. Our comprehensive approach covers critical areas such as education and career development, sports, health and wellbeing, emphasising mental health, community support, and faith-related activities.

Since our inception, we’ve grown substantially, launching flagship initiatives in areas such as Health and Wellbeing, Community Support Programmes, Youth Development, Women Empowerment, Supplementary School, Sports, and Faith-based events. Our health and wellbeing initiatives were notably influential in circulating essential Covid-19 information and promoting the importance of vaccination. Equally significant is our programme centred on the personal and social development of the youth, wherein we actively engage them in diverse activities designed to cultivate good character and an authentic reflection of their faith.

Our activities are currently spread across six rented facilities within the Sale area, which presents logistical hurdles and restricts our ability to start additional community services and projects. Acknowledging the increasing need for a central location, we are firmly committed to establishing a community centre that can accommodate all requisite activities for residents in Sale, Timperley, Urmston, Altrincham, and other nearby areas in Trafford. As we navigate this path with unwavering optimism, we aim to transition from using multiple venues to operating a single, all-encompassing community centre to cater to the community’s needs more effectively.

Our Name

People often inquire, “What’s the significance behind the name Three Meem?” This unique name is derived from repeating the Arabic letter “Meem” three times. Each instance of “Meem” represents a distinct Arabic word. These are Mahabba, Muruwwa, and Mawada, which, when translated to English, signify Devotion, Compassion, and Humanity, respectively.

Our Focus is to foster a vibrant and inclusive community where each person has access to essential resources, opportunities for personal growth, and a network of support that encourages them to achieve their utmost potential. Our key focus areas are the local community’s personal, social, and cultural growth, emphasising mental and physical wellness that will also positively impact the broader society.

We particularly want to engage with our community’s women and young individuals. We strive to empower women by facilitating a diverse range of women-centric activities. Equally, we prioritise youth development, with the Three Meem Foundation emphasising launching various programs to foster character development and enhance academic achievements. These efforts will ultimately create a well-rounded, proactive, and thriving community.
