The Three Meem Foundation hosted an extraordinary International Food Festival on 14th May 2022, celebrating the rich diversity of cultures and communities from across the globe. This vibrant event saw enthusiastic participation from individuals representing 19 different nationalities, including Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Iran, Bangladesh, Turkey, Morocco, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Libya, Algeria, England, Palestine, and Italy. Each community showcased its unique heritage by dressing in traditional attire and sharing delicious home-cooked dishes. The festival was a true culinary journey, offering guests the chance to savor a variety of flavors and learn about the diverse cultures that make up the local community.
The event was a resounding success, attracting more than 600 guests who enjoyed not just the food but also the lively atmosphere of community togetherness. Children had a fantastic time as well, with plenty of activities to keep them entertained, including a funfair, bouncy castle, and face painting. The festival provided an opportunity for families and individuals of all ages to come together in celebration of unity and diversity.
Among the distinguished guests was Andrew Western, the Leader of Trafford Council, who attended the event alongside other notable figures. Dr. Tariq Razzaq, Chair of the Three Meem Foundation, warmly welcomed all attendees and expressed his gratitude to Andrew Western for his presence and support. Dr. Razzaq highlighted the importance of such events in fostering community cohesion and understanding.
Andrew Western, in his address, praised the efforts of the Three Meem Foundation in bringing together so many diverse communities. He emphasized how the festival aligns with Trafford Council’s priorities of promoting inclusivity and strengthening community bonds. Councillor Waseem Hassan also spoke at the event, echoing these sentiments and acknowledging the festival’s role in building a more connected and harmonious community.
